UNITING AESTHETICS AND FOODSTUFFS - a tasty project by Danielle Evans.

Humble Pie. We can all use a slice now and then, but in our case a mouthful never tasted so good. A delicious cherry pie emerged from five hours of prep and cutting our mouthwatering, homemade crust. A last minute decision to create an inline finished out the type beautifully.

We took light inspiration from Christine Kawasaki-Chan’s Easy As and wanted to acknowledge her like mindedness, but we made this idea our own.

Many thanks to Joseph Alessio for hand modeling and Claire Coullon for taste testing.

How did this begin?!

Asked by cabi3

This site began as my response to a series of very low creative circumstances. I lost my only client retainer and as a result was struggling financially, physiologically, and emotionally during the Christmas holiday. My husband and I decided we could not afford to celebrate that year and began talking about how to push through this hardship to a better life.

In this video, I explain my discovery of my niche interest and how I began to discover greatness in myself. The reality is that all of us possess genius inside ourselves- we must simply be brave enough to let it out.

Spaghet about it- this is the most elegant application of pasta I’ve made all year. Utilizing fettuccine, I fashioned a copperplate script by using the heat and starch of al dente noodles to create thick and thin line variations on my kitchen counter. A batch of angel hair was used for ornamentation, also while piping hot to make advantageous use of the starch.

The process took three days, as the spaghetti would begin drying out immediately, leaving a pasta disasta in its wake. Some of the preliminary attempts can be found on Instagram, but the delicious final script twirled to perfection on the sauce colored surface.
